Several things may be whirring through your mind on the first trip to the orthodontist. Questions about the type of braces, length of treatment, and price are probably on that list. We’re here to make it easier, especially at the beginning. We have developed a free consultation that answers all of your questions and helps us determine everything we need to know to create the most effective treatment plan. Our goal is to provide all of the information you need to make the best decision for you or your child.
During that first visit we will make sure everything is covered, but here’s a cheat sheet to prepare for that conversation. Below we’ve outlined 3 important things to ask your orthodontist during your free consultation.
What are my options?
There are several ways to straighten teeth. During your free consultation, we’ll take a digital scan of the mouth to see what we’re working with. Then, once our doctors analyze those scans, they’ll lay out a few courses of treatment that will lead you to get the smile you’ve always wanted. (If you’d like more details on that scanner technology, you can read up on it here.) Treatment options include:
- Traditional braces (metal)
- Invisalign
- Ceramic braces
Sometimes treatment is based on preference. The patient’s age and the amount of movement required to straighten the smile are other key factors. Our assessments will help us present you with the treatment you choose fits your lifestyle and your budget.
How will braces affect my everyday life?
Orthodontic treatment shouldn’t get in the way of your daily routines. We’re here to prevent that. During your consultation, our team will spend time chatting with you about how to manage life with braces. Like most medical treatments, traditional braces require care and maintenance. We want to make sure your smile is protected during your daily activities. This includes things like playing sports with a mouth guard and choosing the right foods throughout the day. Our doctors will give you helpful suggestions about braces-friendly foods.
If you decide on Invisalign, we’ll provide you with the info you need there. Since Invisalign offers clear and removable aligners, patients have more flexibility to eat what they like. That’s why the most important thing to be educated on with this treatment option is care and maintenance of the aligners. And we’re here to provide you with information on both. We’ll also chat about how frequently you’ll need to come in for adjustments. Because we use the most recent technology, patients come in for adjustments every seven to eight weeks instead of every month. While having braces is an important medical procedure, we make it as convenient as possible.
How much will it cost?
The cost of braces is usually top of mind during a patient’s first visit. Just as everyone requires a different course of treatment, we also know that everyone has a different budget. We offer payment plans that are tailored to you. Our mission is to create smiles at an affordable price, and we make that happen by offering several different payment options including:
- Interest free in-house financing plans.
- No down payments.
- Youth Savings Program.
- Patient appreciation discounts.
We even offer a $129 discount for those who want to get braces immediately following their free consultation. Our team will walk you through all available options and ensure that you leave with all of your questions answered.
